Strategic New Business and Key Account Business Partner

DURBAN

R35 000 – R45 000  (Depending on experience) plus Commission

One of our clients, a leader in the Road Freight industry is looking for an experienced New Business Sales and KAM Partner to join their ever-growing team with one position available in Durban.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for securing new business and focus on strategic prospects that align with the company’s strategic initiatives. Maintain and grow existing book of business and be the customers’ main point of contact.

 

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12, with relevant degree/diploma will be an advantage

 

Skills Required

  • Extensive market/ Competitor & rate experience
  • Min 5 years sales experience in Transport / Logistics Services
  • Proven track record in both new business and customer service skill set
  • Proven RFP/Tender experience

 

Responsibilities:

NEW BUSINESS OBJECTIVES:

  • Ability to understand, answer and win RFP’s / Tenders
  • Ability to prospect effectively in order to secure appointments with qualified leads
  • Manage pipeline to ensure conversion rate is applied to reach targets
  • Understand and co-ordinate complex client requirements
  • Support customer service and work closely with ops
  • Understand the need for and benefit of IT integration – have the ability to have IT related conversations with clients
  • Ability to have strategic conversations with clients
  • Plan & execute approaches and pitches to client; making sure each pitch is tailor made to that specific client’s needs
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information
  • Meet and exceed targets
  • Record and report on client details / sales visits onto a CRM system
  • Conduct and report minimum number of sales leads set

 

KEY ACCOUNT OBJECTIVES:

  • Maintain and grow client base
  • Achieve budget per client
  • Build relationships with multiple levels at the client (Strategic, Tactical & Operational)
  • Manage existing client renewals effectively
  • Have a deep understanding of client’s business and how the company can add value to their business
  • Visit clients on a regular basis to ensure you are top of mind
  • Negotiate contracts, price increases and other operational challenges
  • Enable & assist Debtors in collecting aged monies
